The Castle of the Counts of Foix, with its high walls enhanced with three towers stands at the confluence of the Arget and Ariège on an imposing rocky outcrop overlooking the medieval city.
It was probably built during the tenth century. This castle was lucky in the 1630s: it is the only country of Foix that Richelieu was spared! This earned him many jealousies and especially daunting seats. Impregnable, the castle of Foix is still intact.
